The promotional code, often called a "promo code", is a code given to the influencer so their audience can benefit from a discount on their next purchase.
Two types of promo codes are available for your campaign:
- You can offer a generic promo code that all influencers accepted to your campaign can use – the same code for everyone.
- You can offer personalized promo codes for each influencer accepted to your campaign – each code will be unique.
Why share promo codes?
Grab more attention from influencers
on the Store and make your campaign more attractive.
Track
and monitor part of the traffic to your website.
Precisely
identify conversions generated by each influencer.
How does it work?
1. Create the code on your e-commerce site / CRM
The first step is to create the code(s) on your e-commerce site or CRM.
2. Then go to the Influencer Marketing platform
Go to the Influencer Marketing platform, and during the creation of your campaign at the Instructions step, follow these steps depending on your chosen option:
Option 1: Share a generic promo code
- Select Promo Code.
- Fill in the title of your promo code.
- Then the description.
- And finally the promo code name to be shared with influencers.
- Save it!
Option 2: Share personalized promo codes
Do you want to share personalized codes for each accepted influencer to identify the conversions they generate?
- Select Promo Code.
- Check Set up Personalized Promo Codes. Note: only fill in the title and description.
- Go to the Requests tab. Once you've accepted a creator, go to Ready to send, then click Add codes / affiliate > Add promo code > Export orders.
- Complete the downloaded Excel file. Fill in the Promo Code column. For example: marie@xxx.com => promo code: MARIE10. Then save!
- Import the file. Back in the Ready to send tab, click Add codes / affiliate > Add promo code > Import orders and upload the completed Excel file with all the different codes.
- You will find all personalized promo codes in the Pending content tab.
Regardless of the selected option, accepted influencers will receive their promo code directly by email. They will also find it in the campaign information section on their account.
They will then be invited to include your promotional code in their content, preferably in a story format, as it tends to generate higher engagement.
Promo codes vs tracking links?
Tracking links, also known as affiliate links, are shared with creators so they can include them in their content.
- The tracked link measures clicks (visibility, traffic).
- The promo code measures conversions (purchases).
Together, they give you a complete picture of performance: who attracts, who converts.
Setting up affiliate links on the platform follows the same process as promo codes, except that you must choose Affiliate Link in the Instructions section.
You can also share one generic link for all creators, or create personalized links for each one.
