A Spark Ad is a native ad format on TikTok that allows you to boost your UGC content while maintaining its authenticity. On the consumer side, they see sponsored content directly in their TikTok feed, seamlessly integrated as organic posts, while benefiting from a call-to-action to the brand's website.
To set up Spark Ads, you need to get authorization from the influencer to use their content by requesting a Spark Code. You can easily do this through the Influencer Marketing platform!
How does it work?
- The creator posts a TikTok video on their channel
- The brand obtains the Spark Code from the creator, thus getting their authorization to reuse their content
- The brand uses the Spark Code to launch a paid ad campaign
- The video appears as a sponsored post, reaching a large audience, with a call-to-action visible after 3 seconds, redirecting to the website

Get a Spark Code from the platform
To request the influencer's authorization to use their UGC content in an ad launched on TikTok Ads Manager, you must first visit the Influencer Marketing platform.
Go to the REPORTS Tab > Content Tab > Select filters for TikTok Platform & your chosen period.
You will find all the potential TikTok content that can be used for a Spark Ad campaign. Follow these steps:
Click on Request the Spark Code on your favorite content:

It is not guaranteed that the influencer will accept to let you use their content.
However, when the influencer receives your request, we explain the benefits of accepting and sharing the Spark Code with you.
The Spark Code is pending:
You will receive an email if the influencer shares their Spark Code with you.
You can also check the status of the Spark Code in the influencer's content:
If the influencer has shared their Spark Code with you, click on Copy the Spark Code and paste it into TikTok Ads Manager to reuse this content for your Spark Ad campaign:
By clicking on an influencer's content that has already shared their Spark Code, you will see:
- The number of days remaining to use the Spark Code. We recommend that influencers allow you to use the Spark Code for 60 days.
- The Copy Spark Code button.
- A link to directly contact the influencer via messaging if needed.
To track the received and pending Spark Codes, you can filter your content based on the Spark Code status:
Use this Spark Code on your TikTok Ads Manager and launch an ad campaign with the influencer's content:
